While the rest of the British Isles was being battered by storms and endless rain, our intrepid skiffers snatched a memorable gap in the weather for another great row in Hoi Larntan at Barton Broad on Saturday 1st February.
Alan, Antonia, Derryn, Robin and first-time-outer Chris Ford, enjoyed near perfect conditions (if you discount the freezing wind) with the whole Broad to themselves – sighting just one other boat in the distance – and being welcomed by a family of swans who landed close enough to inspect the boat.
Just have to get up early enough and savour the rare winter moment. What a reward!
Here taking a breather at the idyllic Gay’s Staithe.
