Any doubts which the latest combination of Crabbers may have had about the early 6am start were soon dispelled once the skiff was on the water. The oars caressed the silky, smooth surface as the crew progressed towards Pinchen’s Creek. The perfect morning sunlight, along with the absence of wind, made ideal conditions for paddling and chatting.
A short respite on the beach, a rearrangement of the crew, and the homeward journey was completed at high water with Catherine setting the stroke.
The photographs help capture the beauty of the scene and the pleasure of the outing. Those early starts are worth it!
