Nearly to Dilham …

Thanks to Duncan H for the following description, and photograph, of the outing on Tuesday 12th October.

“On Tuesday 12 October Roland G, Tom H, Tony B, David P and Duncan H set off in Bluejacket from Barton Turf heading for Dilham. Conditions were nearly perfect to begin with, with just a very light breeze and only the occasional gin palace bearing down on us as we made our way towards Wayford Bridge. After skilfully negotiating the bridge we rowed on for a bit before the call of coffee and biscuits became too strong, and we found a shady bank on which to rest a while and re-configure the boat for the final paddle up to Dilham. At which point it started to rain and so we decided instead to head back to base, completing the 48-minute return journey at a stately 4mph according to Tom’s GPS. An excellent outing – and thanks to Roland and Tom for helming.”
