The Robin Combe Trophy.

The cold weeks of February will be cheered by timed rows as crews compete for the Robin Combe Trophy. This is an engraved hip flask in memory of Robin, an expert cox, and of the tasters of sloe gin which he generously gave to crew members during breaks from rowing.

The course will start at the Gumshoe Tree near Wayford Bridge and end at the turning into Cox’s Boatyard; a distance of 1.8 miles. Crews are already preparing!

Many thanks to Humphrey for initiating the whole event and for organising the engraved trophy. Who will be in the fastest crew? Who will be the first to sample the contents of the hip flask?
