Tuesday’s Row. Always Optimistic. It’s drying up later.

Richard has again provided the text for the morning row on Tuesday 22nd November. Thanks to him as always.

“I am an optimist, but I’m an optimist who carries a raincoat”…Harold Wilson (a Gannex one if I’m not mistaken)

The crew arrived at Barton Turf after driving through rain with an expectation that the showers had moved on. How wrong were we.

An intermittent wet row was had by all, but it did not deter Mr and Mrs Howes, Tom, David and Richard from exploring the Ant up to Wayford Bridge.

Enroute we were pleased to report the first sighting of Amanda Holden’s puppies,  two fine black labradors that ran to the bank an watched us cruise by.

The upside was that chocky bickies were supplied by Barry.

I am pleased to report that 3 kingfishers were spotted by all, however each Cox failed miserably on the Avian Challenge, and at least 50points were squandered .

Weather conditions deteriorated on the way back and the rowing difficulty was measured as rowing through a thin gruel as opposed to a clear consommé.”
